The Challenge
Violence against women is a significant physically, emotionally, psychologically and socially devastating issue that affects thousands of Australians each day. One in three women have experienced physical and/or sexual violence perpetrated by someone known to them (Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2013) and one in four children are exposed to domestic violence (Australian Domestic and Family Violence Clearinghouse, 2011: The Impact of Domestic Violence on Children: A Literature Review).
Ending violence against women by building a future free from violence and abuse is a goal for us and many workplaces, communities and schools.
However, the challenge for many companies is how to simultaneously provide a safe service for their people, whilst training them to understand what is available to them and how to reach out for help if they need it. The second challenge employers face, is training their people to identify and support those they believe could be victims of violence.
“I was extremely impressed by the professionalism of your team and the quality of the Violence Against Women module you built for us”
– Mitch Thomson, Leadership and Organisational Development Specialist
“Water Corporation is committed to ending gender-based violence and supporting our employees who are experiencing family and domestic violence. We are so pleased to have partnered with BabbleWire to deliver our Violence Against Women training module. The module itself is engaging and informative and the team at BabbleWire were professional, responsive and a pleasure to deal with throughout the process”.

Our Solution
We partnered with White Ribbon Australia and Virgin Australia to develop the Violence Against Women Program to raise awareness of gendered violence for employees of businesses around Australia. The program provides guidelines for how to recognise a victim of violence and the steps we can take to actively remove a culture of gendered violence in and out of the workplace.
Our program, available to all businesses looking to meet the requirements of the White Ribbon Workplace Accreditation Program, adopts a web-based approach that can be delivered practically for employees across the globe. It serves as an extension of your existing services or programs, and provides assistance for potential victims in how to reach out for help from their employer.
